When North Korea shot off its first-ever intercontinental ballistic missile in the early morning hours of July 4, US military and intelligence personnel watched leader Kim Jong Un smoke cigarettes and stroll around the launchpad for a full 70 minutes, a source told The Diplomat's Ankit Panda.
Video of the launch clearly shows Kim on site, sometimes feet away from the missile. The next day, the US and South Korea put on a blistering display of precision-guided firepower that proves they could have both killed Kim and stopped the launch in its tracks, but they chose not to.
By letting North Korea know they watched Kim out in the open as he prepared for one of his country's most provocative ever tests missile tests, Baker says the US may have sent two powerful messages.

From Fox News: A Canadian landlord who was fined $12,000 for wearing shoes in a Muslim tenant’s home said he felt “humiliated” by the harsh penalty levied by a national human rights tribunal.
In an interview with the Toronto Sun, John Alabi, 52, of Brampton, recounted how he went above and beyond trying to accommodate the Egyptian-born couple who lived in the apartment for two months – just to be slapped with a steep fine for the shoe incident.
“I go beyond all that. I just see everybody as human beings like me. That’s why I took them in,” Alabi told the Toronto Sun in May. “We got along. And then all of a sudden I’m a racist?”

Would this bust be happening under President Hillary Clinton?
The following news release from DHS seems to indicate a new determination in the law enforcement community to rescue this country from the brink of ruin.
26 ARRESTED IN SOUTHEASTERN WASHINGTON CHILD PREDATOR STING- RICHLAND, Wash. – A multiagency law enforcement operation in Washington’s tri-cities area targeting individuals intending to sexually exploit children resulted in the arrest of 26 suspects, including five individuals with access to children at risk of being abused. The operation, which took place July 5-10, was the result of a probe by the Washington State Patrol’s (WSP) Missing and Exploited Children Task Force (MECTF) including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
“The number of predators interested in sexual contact with minors is overwhelming and made clear by these targeted operations,” said Brad Bench, special agent in charge of HSI Seattle. “Interagency cooperation is paramount in combatting this crime. We work tirelessly with our partners to protect our youth from these perpetrators.”
Considering Hillary and Bill Clinton’s connections with the “Lolita Express” it doesn’t seem likely that pedophile rings would be a priority if she were in office.

A hypocritical Germany has the gall to lecture the U.S? Under Chancellor Angela Merkel, Germany has failed to meet its NATO pledge on defense spending, ignored EU restrictions on deficit spending and continues to defy EU limits on its current account surplus.
Aside from anything else, the decision to hold the G-20 meeting in Germany’s second-largest city was another colossal misjudgment by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, coming after her unilateral decision to invite a million immigrants into Europe’s open-border area and her callous policy of pretend-and-extend in the Greek debt crisis, among others.
And for what? This meeting mostly aimed at isolating President Donald Trump after he took the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord. The other 18 countries and the European Union closed ranks against the U.S. and pledged once again to meet emission-reduction goals that are probably unrealistic and certainly unenforceable.
Germany, which mustered this stand against the U.S., has failed to meet its NATO pledge on defense spending, ignored EU restrictions on deficit spending and continues to defy EU limits on its current account surplus. Why should Germany or any other G-20 participant — Russia, Turkey, Italy — be expected to honor its climate goals?

An 82-year-old resident of Beit Yitzhak, near Netanya, shot two suspected burglars who entered his home on Monday night, killing one. The incident sparked criticism of the police for not doing enough to combat burglaries, and calls for loosened gun restrictions from one Knesset member. Rami Bello, chairman of the town’s infrastructure committee, said that Beit Yitzhak is “a burglar’s paradise.” “Our moshav is very large, and in the agricultural areas there are burglars who watch the houses and break into them every day,” Bello said in an interview with Radio 103 FM on Tuesday.
Police say, however, that they have dedicated large forces to dealing with the burglary problem and have seen a dramatic drop in property crime in the last year. In March the police arrested 15 people on suspicion of burglary in the Tel Aviv District. “In recent months we have seen sophisticated actions that have brought the arrests of hundreds of actors in criminal networks throughout Israel,” Police Commissioner Insp.-Gen. Roni Alsheich said in March after the arrests. “Many citizens in Israel will sleep with confidence and conduct their business as usual without fear, thanks to this extensive activity.”
Meanwhile residents voiced support for the actions of the elderly homeowner, who is a Holocaust survivor. One told Channel 2 that “maybe now the burglars in the area will be afraid.”

Next Wednesday (19 July), Radiohead will step on stage in Tel Aviv in knowing and deliberate contravention of the boycott of Israel called for by Palestinian civil society and adhered to by leading cultural figures. In so doing, they will lose the respect of thousands of music fans across the region and around the world. Lead singer Thom Yorke’s arrogant response to protests against the decision revealed just how out of touch he is on this issue. In an interview in Rolling Stone magazine, he claimed the protests were “an extraordinary waste of energy”, adding that the situation was particularly upsetting for guitarist Jonny Greenwood, who has “fans on both sides” and an Israeli wife: “All these people stand there at a distance throwing stuff at us, waving flags, saying, ‘You don’t know anything about it!’ Imagine how offensive that is for Jonny.” An acknowledgement that offence might be caused to Palestinians – whose calls Radiohead have decided to ignore – was conspicuously absent from Yorke’s rant.
I'M OK WITH IT!
