The south used to vote Democrat. Now it votes Republican. Why the switch? Was it, as some people say, because the GOP decided to appeal to racist whites? Carol Swain, Professor of Political Science at Vanderbilt University, explains.

Can you remember an instance when someone, a complete stranger, poured their heart out to you? It probably happened without warning, and the emotions they were feeling were coursing through your heart as well. There is something magnetic about an empath; they have a force that draws other’s towards them. These people who open up to you, they don’t know why they do it- and it doesn’t matter. We give them comfort and reassurance, and after riding the roller-coaster with them, we do our best to help them find peace. APPARENTLY WRITTEN BY AN EMPATH TO HELP YOU REALIZE YOU ARE IN THEIR PRESENCE.

It is part of the conventional wisdom of our time that people who marry become healthier than they were when they were single. But is that really so? In “Does marriage protect health? A birth cohort comparison,” a study published this month in Social Science Quarterly, sociologist Dmitry Tumin provided a compelling answer to that question. He examined men’s marriages and women’s, marriages of people who were born in three different decades (1955-1964, 1965-1974, and 1975-1984), and people who had been married for three different lengths of time (up to 4 years, 5 to 9 years, and 10 years or longer). In nearly every instance, the answer to the key question – do people who marry become healthier than they were when they were single? – was no.

Ziada Ayorech, first author of the study from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King's College London, said: 'The role of parent's education in their children's educational outcomes has previously been thought of as environmental, but our study suggests a strong genetic component too. These results show that half of the differences between whether families were socially mobile or not, can be attributed to genetic differences between them. 'This tells us that if we want to reduce educational inequalities, it's important to understand children's genetic propensity for educational achievement. That way, we can better identify those who require more support.'

We were in hiding, and I was the lookout. And then I noticed one German poking up a little from a trench. I clicked, and he fell. And then, you know, I started shaking all over, I heard my bones knocking. I cried. When I shot at targets it was nothing, but now: I—killed! I killed some unknown man. I knew nothing about him, but I killed him.

John McCain’s foundation is funded by Saudis, Rothschilds & Soros. - Sen. John McCain (RINO-AZ) has an eponymous foundation, the McCain Institute for International Leadership, that is less known and much smaller in scale, but rivals the Clinton Foundation in corruption. Note: Don’t confuse the McCain Institute with either:
The philanthropic John and Cindy McCain Family Foundation that, according to NonProfitFacts.com, claimed a paltry $1,002 in income and $6,013 in assets in 2013; or The McCain Foundation, which has nothing to do with John McCain, but was founded by McCain Foods. The Institute describes itself as a tax-exempt non-profit and “non-partisan do-tank dedicated to advancing character-driven global leadership based on security, economic opportunity, freedom and human dignity – in the United States and around the world.” Reporting for The Daily Caller on June 19, 2017, Richard Pollock writes that the Institute began with $9 million left over from McCain’s failed 2008 presidential campaign, and has become a huge operation, featuring upwards of 80 people including dozens of full time staff and board members. Associated with Arizona State University, the McCain Institute has assets valued at $8.1 million.

A MERCEDES PICKUP TRUCK??? SORRY, THAT JUST AIN'T RIGHT.-  Mercedes-Benz, reeling from a massive recall over concerns about diesel emissions, is stretching its refined image with its first ever pickup truck, betting that upscale car buyers are ready for an open-bed hauler with leather seats, oak trim and Autobahn handling. The X-Class, priced starting at 37,300 euros ($43,200) in Germany, will reach dealerships in the brand’s home country starting in November and then be rolled out to South Africa, Australia and New Zealand in 2018 and Latin America the following year. The Mercedes model will be available initially with two diesel options as well as a gasoline engine. The top-of-the-line V6 diesel will be available as of mid-2018.

There is ample evidence to support the value of a satisfying sex life to a couple’s relationship, not to mention one’s individual happiness. Most recently, researchers have found that people’s happiness levels rise on days after they’ve had sexual activity with their partner. Now, as it turns out, there may be an added advantage to being sexually active. University of California San Francisco’s Tomás Cabeza de Baca and colleagues (2017) discovered the benefits of sexual activity to the body’s cells. The cellular advantage is one that could increase your actual lifespan.
