Germany's Angela Merkel is often referred to as the "climate chancellor" because of her impassioned stand on climate protection, which has included the muscular arm-twisting of laggard nations in Europe and beyond -- as she demonstrated at the G20 summit in Hamburg in earlier this month. And during her three full terms in office, she's guided Germany's vaunted Energiewende, or renewable energy transition, which has vastly increased the number of renewables in the power mix to make up a third of the country's electricity supply today -- and an astounding 85% of power generation on particularly sunny, windy days. But Germany's headline success story has a dark underside that is usually overlooked in all the fanfare. Greenhouse gas emissions in Germany have not sunk significantly since 2009, but rather have stagnated at about 900 million tons of carbon dioxide a year: the highest in Europe by far. (France's, for example, are less than half as much.)

Many of us accept we're not the healthiest person on the planet. But new research warns this mindset could be dangerous. In fact, according to Stanford University, people who view themselves as less healthy than others are at risk of suffering a premature death - no matter how active they actually are. The study, published in Health Psychology, is the latest of many to show how our thoughts, feelings and beliefs have a direct impact on our health. Experts say this shows we should equally prioritize feeling positive and working out.

On a remote pass through Himalayan peaks, China and India, two nuclear-armed nations, have come near the brink of conflict over an unpaved road. It is one of the worst border disputes between the regional rivals in more than 30 years. The road stands on territory at the point where China, India and Bhutan meet. The standoff began last month when Bhutan, a close ally of India, discovered Chinese workers trying to extend the road. India responded by sending troops and equipment to halt the construction. China, the more powerful of the two, angrily denounced the move and demanded that India pull back. Now soldiers from the two powers are squaring off, separated by only a few hundred feet.

Poland’s ruling conservatives have hit back at EU threats to halt the country’s voting rights in the bloc if it pushes through controversial judicial reforms, saying they amount to “blackmail”. The EU warned on Wednesday that it would immediately move to deploy its most serious sanction if Poland’s far-rightwing government gave itself the power to fire its supreme court judges.

A small town in Tennessee has been dealing with a lot of Muslim immigrants and they are starting to impose their will. Just take a look at what kind of havoc they have been causing the residents of this small Christian town.

When we look back on this period of history, we’ll say climate change was one of the greatest hoaxes. Politician-turned-environmental activist, Al Gore has become wealthy beyond his wildest dreams (and intelligence) thanks to pushing the “big lie.”

Monsanto will do anything to bury this story… and as of right now, it’s working. Not a single mainstream media outlet has covered this appalling new report that shows millions of people being poisoned by a chemical that does not belong in our food. This chemical is ending up in processed foods like Cheerios, Ritz Crackers, and Oreos and being consumed by humans across the world. The health of millions of people is on the line and this news must go mainstream!

WHO KNOWS WHAT TO BELIEVE?

Grimaldi, Italy - The Carabinieri station chief exits the patrol car, lights a cigar and gazes over the little stone wall at the winding coastline below. It's sunset and the hilltop hamlet just 1.5km from the French border is famed for its vistas. It's also where many refugees begin a perilous hike across the "Pass of Death" to cross the mountainous border into France.

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is once again at the vortex of controversy, this time over a suddenly fired staffer who was arrested while at an airport preparing to leave the country. The latest imbroglio is unfolding exactly a year after the biggest crisis of Wasserman Schultz’s political career, the disclosure of massive volumes of internal Democratic National Committee emails, hacked from the party and published online by WikiLeaks. That controversy resulted in her resignation as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

Thousands of people were evacuated from homes and vacation sites in southeastern France on Wednesday as strong winds fueled wildfires that had been raging across the region for days. At least 10,000 people, including 3,000 campers, were evacuated overnight — some to beaches nearby — after a forest fire started near Bormes-les-Mimosas, a town on the Mediterranean coast, where the population surges with vacationers during the summer.

Massive increases in immigration to Germany have been good news for its economy, according to media reports published Wednesday. The business newspaper Handelsblatt and Focus magazine both ran stories of the boon to Germany’s public health system and its pensions funds as a result of recent immigration, The Local reported. An additional 1.7 million people—an increase of 53 percent —paid into social security systems between 2008 and 2015, with the number of contributors from other European nations doubling,Handelsblatt reported. SOUNDS LIKE IMPROPERGANDA TO ME.

Lesbians adopting little boys only to castrate them? Six years ago, a lesbian couple in California thought it would be appropriate to let their child decide that he wanted gender reassignment surgery.
[Adoptive guardians] Pauline Moreno and Debra Lobel reasoning was that children with gender identity disorder forced to postpone transitioning could face a higher risk of suicide. That’s bull – they flat out adopted for the express purpose of castration and we all know it. Let’s call this what it is: Disfiguring, mutilating, chemically castrating a boy – and hoping to get a girl out of it.
Thomas’s transition into a make-pretend girl began at age eight. His guardians inflicted hormone suppressants to prevent him from developing a male voice, broad shoulders, and facial hair. If this doesn’t qualify as child abuse, the statutes need to be rewritten.
