A Geoengineering ‘Cocktail’ Could Dull the Pain of Climate Change- Even to advocates of geoengineering the idea of deliberately altering the environment to avoid the worst effects of climate change is laden with risks. Such meddling could cause unforeseen ecological consequences, they say. And then there are political risks: Researchers fret that even proposing a techno-fix for global warming could lessen the urgency to reduce global emissions of carbon dioxide, the primary driver of global warming, and other greenhouse gases. BETTER NOT PISS OFF MOTHER NATURE!!!

There was a frightening new guest at the party that marked Russia's Navy Day celebrations this past weekend -- perhaps representing the greatest single global challenge for President Donald Trump.
Chinese warships joined the parade of Russian naval vessels in the sea off the Port of Kronstadt in St. Petersburg as President Vladimir Putin looked on proudly. All were fresh from the first stage of Joint Sea 2017, a Russian-Chinese naval exercise that Chinese media boasted included live-firing of big guns in the Baltic Sea, which borders five of America's NATO allies, and was designed at least in part to showcase the cream of both nations' seaborne military might. KINDA LIKE THE RECENT NATO MILITARY EXERCISES???

Russia’s air force sent seven military jets zooming past Latvia Tuesday, before forces in Estonia and Finland scrambled to intercept three Russian warplanes further north in the Baltic Sea. In different incidents, Latvia’s armed forces reported observing two Russian Su-34 fighter jets, two Su-27 fighters, two MiG-31 fighters and one An-26 cargo jet, announcing it onTwitterShortly after, the NATO Baltic Air Police mission scrambled to escort two MiG-31 fighters and one An-26 cargo jet, though it is unclear if they were the same group spotted by Latvia’s southern neighbor, Estonia. According to a NATO statement, aircraft from non-NATO Finland were also scrambled.

Aida is the perfect employee: always courteous, always learning and, as she says, “always at work, 24/7, 365 days a year.” Aida, of course, is not a person but a virtual customer-service representative that SEB AB, one of Sweden’s biggest banks, is rolling out. The goal is to give the actual humans more time to engage in more complex tasks. I'M SURE!!!

Scientists who retested mineral samples collected during the Apollo moon missions now believe there’s a massive amount of water under the lunar surface – a discovery which may make manned missions to the moon easier than previously thought. Researchers at Brown University in the US examined glass beads, a type of volcanic crystal gathered during the Apollo 15 and 17 missions in the 1970s, and found they contained similar volumes of water to Earth’s basalt rock.

The leaders of the two countries have been holding regular secret meetings in a bit to improve relations and work together. One political expert said the two countries were putting the European Union (EU) on the spot by working towards their own power hub - with Brussels unable to “do much about it”. Hungarian-Polish political scientist Dominik Hejj said: “The relations are very strong, and almost every week a Polish minister visits Hungary and vice versa.” AND VLAD'S EARS PERK UP.
