UPDATE ON BRENT, AL HUMAN TRAFFICKING
A former Bibb County teacher revealed she raised concerns about a child, now believed to be one of ten victims in a child sex abuse case, nearly a year before the case came to light.WHAT WE LEARNED FROM PRESS CONFERENCE:
An investigation that began in February with a disclosure that led to the discovery a child sex trafficking ring in Brent, Alabama.
The trafficking was carried out in a basement/bunker belonging to the McElroy family on Aaron Dr.
The trafficking went on for several years.
some of the suspects’ main source of income was sex trafficking, and the children, who were drugged during the abuse, were used to make up to $1,000 in one night.
A picture of the “bunker” was released in hopes it will jog potential victims’ memory.
At least 10 children were victimized, ranging from ages 3 to 15 years old. Several of the victims are children of some of the suspects. Their ages range from 3-10 years-old. More victims are expected.

Deputies have arrested 7 suspects and more are expected:1)Willam Chase McElroy
The “bunker” is on or near property on my someone in the McElroy family.
Charged:
4 counts of first-degree rape
6 counts of first-degree sodomy
6 counts of human trafficking
4 counts of first-degree
human trafficking.
2)Dalton Terrell
Charges:
5 counts of first-degree rape
7 counts of first-degree sodomy
6 counts of human trafficking
4 counts of first-degree kidnapping.
3) Sarah Louis Terrell
Charges:
1 count of sexual torture
2 counts sexual abuse of a child under 12
4) Ricky Terrell- he and Rebecca Brewer have children together.
Charges:
1 count of 1st degree rape
More charges to come
5)Rebecca Brewer-
Charges:
8 counts of Human Trafficking
8 counts of kidnapping
3 counts of sexual torture
6) Andrea Velazquez- Trejo
Charged:
6 counts of human trafficking. He is accused of distributing explicit images and facilitating contact between victims and others and drugging the children. More charges expected
7)Timothy StJohn
Charges:
2 counts of first-degree rape
4 counts of sodomy
4counts of human trafficking
3 counts of kidnapping
1 count of bestiality
1 count of cruelty to animals.
Several of the suspects are related and related to some of the children.
The Department of Homeland Security is assisting to determine possible gang connections and if the suspects were in the country legally.
