THE MAGIC HAT

While in California I needed to go to the
emergency room.

Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put
on my Magic Green Hat.
When I went into the E.R., I noticed that
3/4 of the people got up and left.

I guess they decided that they weren't that
sick after all. Cut at least 3 hours off my
waiting time.

Here's the hat: Below.

It also works at Dept. of Motor Vehicles.
It saved me 5 hours.

At the Laundromat, three minutes after
entering, I had my choice of any machine,
most still running.

If you live in Texas, it might cut your wait
time at the grocery store.

But, don't try it at McDonald's. The
whole crew ran out the back door and I
never did get my order!

FB DISCUSSION ON TAIWAN CONGRATULATORY CALL

=====================================
DickC-
Wow. The way we've been running our government is finally coming out. Apparently we just don't talk to other countries without permission. Since 1979. Loving this President more and more.
-- @realDonaldTrump at 7:44 p.m.: "The President of Taiwan CALLED ME today to wish me congratulations on winning the Presidency. Thank you!" ... at 8:41 p.m.: "Interesting how the U.S. sells Taiwan billions of dollars of military equipment but I should not accept a congratulatory call."
=====================================

DustinM- If his twitter feed is the only place you're getting your information on why this is such a massive clusterfuck on his part, I don't think I can even begin to explain what's wrong with what he is doing.

But I'll give it a shot.

First, read up on the "One China" policy. It'll help explain why the US hasn't talked to the Taiwanese leadership since 1979.

Second, google "Trump Taiwan hotel", and see what his company is doing.

Third, look into who actually arranged this call. It was Trump's team.

This whole thing was a self-serving act, and could destabilize US-China relations in a very serious way.

He's an idiot, and will continue to prove it.

-- 20 hrs

DickC- Thanks, Dustin. Always nice to have a civilized conversation. Yeah, I was studying China/Taiwan relations before 1979, in high school. I watched Nixon open the US to China in 1972, and still think it was the most important thing he did in his presidency. I'd submit that any policy in place for close to 30 years might be due for review.

Yes, of COURSE if you hire a global hotel magnate, he'll have friends and business around the world. Kind of like if you hire someone under multiple Federal investigations, they just might get convicted. I heard the call came from Taiwan, but if Trump's team initiated it so much the better.

We'll see who's the idiots are, here. Give him time to get into office.

-- 19 hrs

JohnB- 1979 sounds like some BS Carter might have initiated. We had a friendly relationship with Taiwan b4 China. Why can't we all just get along? Was he supposed to hang up on the President of free China?

-- 17 hrs

DickC- I just think it's really cute that the existing power structure is under the impression that Trump will do a "Master, May I?" every time he has an idea. Not how it works in business. The top dog decides what's going to happen, the other dogs get it done or they're turned into sausage.

Un-- 1 · 16 hrs

DallasK- It’s a little different when there are 1.357 billion dogs and they are really possessive over their patch of land. It isn’t really our role to decide if they are being silly about it or not. They certainly won’t appreciate us rubbing their noses in the fact that we give Taiwan military aid.

It was just a poor decision all around.

-- 14 hrs

RickP- It was a non- political decision. That's why the professional politicians are having a cow.

-- 11 hrs

DickC- In business, you talk to your competitors. Your retailers. Your customers. The more information and connections you have, the better things work.

Un-- 1 · 35 mins

JohnB- "Keep your friends close and your friends closer"

-- 19 mins

DickC- "Walk softly and beat the hell out of your enemies with a big stick."

-- 12 mins

JohnB- DickC- YES! Exactly what TRJr said!!!

THE ANGRY MAN

The Angry Man (and Woman)

(I didn’t write this, but I wish I had!)

For all the interest group pandering that shapes modern American politics, the group that may well have decided the election has come down to the demographic of The Angry Man.
The Angry Man is difficult to stereotype. He comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America , from sophisticated urbanite to rural redneck, Deep South to Yankee North, Left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.
No matter where he's from, Angry Men share many common traits; they aren't asking for anything from anyone other than the promise to be able to make their own way on a level playing field. In many cases, they are independent businessmen and employ several people. They pay more than their share of taxes and they work hard. Damn hard, for what they have and intend to keep.
He's used to picking up the tab, whether it's the Christmas party for the employees at his company, three sets of braces, college educations or a beautiful wedding or two. Not because he was forced to, but because it's the right thing to do.
The Angry Man believes the Constitution should be interpreted as it was written. It is not as a living document open to the whims and vagaries of appointed judges and political winds.
The Angry Man owns firearms, and he's willing to pick up a gun and use it in defense of his home, his country and his family. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone if necessary to achieve those goals gives him only momentary pause.
The Angry Man is not, and never will be, a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina. He got his people together and got the hell out. Then, he went back in to rescue those who needed help or were too stupid to help themselves in the first place. He was selfless in this, just as often a civilian as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter.
Victimhood syndrome buzzwords; disenfranchised, marginalized and voiceless don't resonate with The Angry Man. Press ‘one' for English is a curse-word to him.  His last name, his race and his religion don't matter. His ancestry might be Italian, English, African, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, Russian, Hispanic or any of a hundred others. What does matter is that he considers himself in every way to be an American. He is proud of this country and thinks that if you aren't, you are whole-heartedly encouraged to find one that suits you and move there.
The Angry Man is usually a man's man. The kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, go hunting, play golf, maintain his own vehicles and build things. He coaches kid's baseball, soccer and football and doesn't ask for a penny. He's the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, design a factory or work the land. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant so that you can keep the lights on while never knowing everything it took to do that.
The Angry Man is the backbone of this country.  He's not racist, but is truly disappointed and annoyed, when people exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their ethnicity.
He's willing to give everybody a fair chance if they're willing to work hard and play by the rules. He expects other people to do the same. Above all, he has integrity in everything he does.
The Angry Man votes, and he loathes the dysfunction now rampant in government. It's the victim groups being pandered to and the poor me attitude that they represent. The inability of politicians to give a straight answer to an honest question. The tax dollars that are given to people who simply don't want to do anything for themselves. The fact that, because of very real consequences, he must stay within a budget but for some obscure reason the government he finances doesn't. Mostly, it's the blatantly arrogant attitude displayed implying that we are too stupid to run our own lives and only people in government are smart enough to do that.
The Angry Man has reached his limit. When a social justice agitator goes on TV, leading some rally for Black Lives Matter, safe spaces or other such nonsense, he may bite his tongue but, he remembers.
When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement. But when government officials are repeatedly caught red-handed breaking the law and getting off scot-free, The Angry Man balls-up his fists and readies himself for the coming fight. He knows that this fight, will be a live or die situation, so he prepares fully. Make no mistake, this is a fight in which he is not willing to lose and he will never give up.

AWARDS FOR THE MOST FRIVOLOUS SUCCESSFUL LAWSUITS IN THE USA

AWARDS FOR THE MOST FRIVOLOUS SUCCESSFUL LAWSUITS IN THE USA

5th Place (Tied)
Kathleen Robertson of Austin , Texas was awarded $780,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving toddler was Ms. Robertson’s son.
5th Place (Tied)
19 year old Carl Truman of Los Angeles won $74,000 and medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Mr. Truman apparently did not notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal the hubcaps.
5th Place (Tied)
Terrence Dickson of Bristol , Pennsylvania was leaving a house he had just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get the garage door to go up since the automatic door opener was malfunctioning. He could not re-enter the house because the door connecting the house and garage locked when he pulled it shut The family was on vacation and Mr. Dickson found himself locked in the garage for 8 days. He subsisted on a case of Pepsi he found and a large bag of dry dog food. He sued the homeowner’s insurance claiming the situation caused him undue mental anguish. The Jury agreed to the tune of $500,000.
4th Place
Jerry Williams of Little Rock , Arkansas was awarded $14,500 and medical expenses after being bitten on the buttocks by his next door neighbor’s Beagle dog. The Beagle was on a chain in its owner’s fenced yard. The award was less than sought because the jury felt the dog might have been a little provoked at the time as Mr. Williams, who had climbed over the fence into the yard, was shooting it repeatedly with a pellet gun.
3rd Place
A Philadelphia restaurant was ordered to pay Amber Carson of Lancaster , Pennsylvania $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink and broke her coccyx (tailbone). The beverage was on the floor because Ms.Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier, during an argument.
2nd Place
Kara Walton of Claymont , Delaware sued the owner of a Night Club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom window to the floor and knocked out two of her front teeth. This occurred whilst Ms. Walton was trying to sneak in the window of the Ladies Room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was awarded $12,000 and dental expenses.
1st Place !!!!!
This year’s runaway winner was Mr. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City , Oklahoma . Mr. Grazinski purchased a brand new Winnebago Motor home. On his trip home from an OU football game, having driven onto the freeway, he set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver’s seat to go into the back and make himself a cup of coffee. Not surprisingly the RV left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mr. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising him in the owner’s manual that he could not actually do this. The jury awarded him $1,750,000 plus a new Winnebago Motor home. The company actually changed their manuals on the basis of this suit just in case there were any other complete morons buying their recreational vehicles

NAILED IT! Brit Hume! CASTRO

As with most things, people on the Left seem to need a history lesson when it comes to evil dictators like Fidel Castro. From Obama’s weird statement about history to Trudeau’s outright complimentary eulogy, it’s as if they really don’t understand who the man was.
Luckily Brit Hume is a giver, and he spelled it out bullet point by bullet point; feel free to share this with anyone you know who still thinks Fidel did great things because of socialism.
Yikes, right? Almost caused a nuclear holocaust, sponsored terrorism, killed a bunch of innocent people, condoned torture, stole property and money from his people, outlawed private enterprise … he was a real bastard.
But free healthcare or something!
