William Ayers a keynote speaker next month at the Association of Teacher Educators conference
January 17, 2013 | 12:34 pm | Modified: January 17, 2013 at 12:40 pmThe Association of Teacher Educators has recruited Chicago professor – and former domestic terrorist – William Ayers to speak at their the 2013 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia which will be held next month.
William Ayers, a co-founder of the radical Weather Underground domestic terror group, was a key figure during the 2008 presidential campaign due to his Chicago ties to then-Senator Obama.
The organization’s executive director, David Ritchey, confirmed that Ayers would be a keynote speaker at the conference although he admitted that he wasn’t involved in the selection process.
Ritchey added that although Ayers was a controversial figure he had been invited due to his “work in the education field, apart from all the other stuff.”

Dear Ann Shelly and David Richey,
You have elected to schedule Bill Ayers to be a Keynote speaker at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Association of Teacher Educators that will be held in Atlanta, Georgia. The theme implemented by you, the President of the ATE, is Living and Learning across a Lifetime.
You choice to have Mr. Ayers as a speaker is deplorable and in itself anti-American and sends a message of violence to educators and students. I ask you now to remove Bill Ayers from this event and all events regarding the ATE. You should cancel any membership he has.
Living and learning what? How to be a terrorist? How to get away with murder? How to hate America? What is the message you want the teachers to walk away with? It's ok to be a terrorist and a mad bomber?
Talk about gun control. We should start at the teacher level about gun control and violence. Bill Ayers said; and I quote Ayers; “Kill all the rich people. … Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents.”
What are you thinking!? You can't possibly be the same type of person as Bill Ayers, are you? Assuming you are not, then having a mean spirited anti-American terrorist being a speaker at this conference, spieling his hate to our young and to the teachers is deplorable to say the least! If you agree then cancel his speech and his membership. Otherwise it is assumed you are the same as Bill Ayers.
Must we follow the money? Bill Ayers controls the Annenberg Foundation which has over $300 million to disburse which is in itself an atrocity. Is the ATE receiving donations
from the Annenberg Foundation?
I demand you to remove Bill Ayers from this event and all events
regarding the ATE.
