The study, carried out over the course of a year at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, found that five beer brands were consumed most often by people who ended up in the emergency room. They were Budweiser, Steel Reserve, Colt 45, Bud Ice and Bud Light.
Three of the brands are malt liquors, which typically contain more alcohol than regular beer. Four malt liquors accounted for nearly half of the beer consumption by emergency room patients, even though they account for less than 3 percent of beer consumption in the general population.http://freakonomics.com/2013/08/20/what-kind-of-beer-is-most-likely-to-land-you-in-the-e-r/

WOMAN KILLED BY WALMART BAG
Lawsuit: Woman Died Because Walmart Didn’t Double-Bag Her Groceries
By Laura Northrup August 29, 2013
In
April of 2010, a Nebraska woman picked up two 46-ounce cans and a
two-pound bag of rice at Walmart. The cashier put all of these items in a
single bag. The bag broke, causing an injury which became infected. The
infection led to the woman’s death. Now her family is suing Walmart, as
well as the companies that made and distributed the faulty plastic bag,
for wrongful death.
According to her family’s attorney, the bag broke, and one of the
cans fell on her foot, breaking a toe and cutting her foot. The wound
became infected, and her condition declined. Antibiotics and two
surgeries couldn’t save her, and she died. The problem isn’t just that the bag was defective, you see: Walmart is named in the suit because they were allegedly “negligent” in not training their employees how to bag properly. Had her purchases been double-bagged, after all, the can probably wouldn’t have fallen on her foot. If the purchases had been put in multiple bags, the defective bag might not have broken at all.

DON'T TRY AT HOME!
Don’t try this at home: Sports enthusiast Per Gunnar Roalkvam
caught an eye-popping sight when he trained his cam on strongman Brian
Shaw lifting a weight 442.5 kilos — almost a thousand pounds.
In the video, out of Sanyu, China, the weights on the barbell look comically huge — and seem to almost dwarf Shaw.Fans can be heard yelling encouragement to him from the sidelines as the strongman contemplates the dead lift. “Pick it up!” And, amazingly, he does.
That feat led Shaw to
place first in the 2013 competition for world’s strongest man. The
video shows why the 31-year-old American certainly earned the title —
which he also won in 2011.

Fabio's Easy Chicken Dinner
Culinary Tips:
--Bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts are an economical way to eat lean meat with lots of flavor! Bone-in thighs will also work but will cook faster due to their smaller size, so be sure to reduce your cooking time.
--Fresh herbs are better, but dried herbs will work in a pinch.
--Always rinse chicken before preparing it, and be sure to dry it completely.
--This dish can be prepped the night before. Simply wrap the roasting pan tightly with plastic wrap, and bring it to room temperature before baking.
--Pair this dish with a simple tossed salad for a more balanced meal!
Fabio's Easy Chicken Dinner is deliciously simple!FABIO'S EASY CHICKEN DINNER
Recipe by Fabio Viviani
Yield: 2 servings
Ingredients:
12 to 14 baby red potatoes, cleaned
3 large carrots, peeled
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper
2 lemons
3 sprigs fresh oregano
1 sprig fresh thyme
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 chicken breast halves, bone-in, skin-on
3/4 cup chicken broth
Method:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cut the potatoes in half.
Cut the carrots into pieces about the same size as the halved potatoes.
In a medium bowl, toss the vegetables with the 2 tablespoons of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside while you prepare the chicken.
Cut 2 thin slices of lemon, and cut the remaining lemon into 6 thick slices.
Pull the oregano leaves from the stems and roughly chop them. Discard the stems.
Pull the thyme leaves from the stems. Combine with the minced garlic, and discard the stems.
Slide your finger under the chicken skin to separate the skin from the meat.
Place one thin lemon slice under the skin of each chicken breast.
Follow with the garlic-thyme mixture and then the oregano.
Reposition the skin so that it's covering as much meat as possible.
Drizzle each chicken breast with a little more olive oil. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
On one side of a roasting pan, place the thick lemon slices side by side and touching.
Place the chicken on the bed of lemon slices so that it does not touch the bottom of the pan.
Add the prepared vegetables to the other side of the pan.
Pour the chicken stock over the vegetables and around the chicken.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the chicken and vegetables are fully cooked.
Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Emily Craig, 20, and Shaun Bowden, 31, were nabbed after cops were called to the store in North Charleston around 8:40 AM.
Officers were dispatched to the business “in reference to an male and female entering a display shed on the property, closing the door behind themselves and remaining inside,” according to a North Charleston Police Department report.
An inspection of the outdoor sheds turned up Craig and Bowden. Craig, cops noted, was “partially clothed; the top of her dress was untied, hanging at her waist.” Bowden was shirtless and “had his pants down near his knees; his penis was exposed.”
During subsequent questioning of the duo, “it became apparent that they were engaged in sexual intercourse within the shed.”

OLDER WOMEN
Beware of Older Women
I ended up with an older woman at a bar last night. She looked pretty good for a 60-year-old.
In fact, she wasn't too bad at all, and I found myself thinking she probably had a really hot daughter.
We drank a couple of beers, and she asked if I'd ever had a 'Sportsman's Double'?
'What's that? I asked.
'It's a mother and daughter threesome,' she said.
As my mind began to embrace the idea, and I wondered what her daughter might look like,
I said, 'No, I haven't.' We drank a bit more, then she said with a wink, 'tonight's your lucky night'.
We went back to her place. We walked in. She put on the
hall light and shouted upstairs, "Hey 'Mom...you still awake?"

They produce eggs and are very useful for farmers in
Thailand. Everyday they are sent to each rice paddy to
eat crabs, shrimps, soft shell mussels, insects which are
great enemies of agriculture. Instead of chemicals they
use ducks. Ducks are very happy also because they get

Oh, her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying
She is so beautiful and I tell her every day
Yeah, I know, I know, when I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so, sad to think that she does not see what I see
But every time she asks me do I look OK, I say
When I see your face, there is not a thing that I would change
Cause you are amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you are amazing, just the way you are. Yeah.

Sitting for extended periods of time is an independent risk factor for poor
health and premature death. Even if very fit if you uninterruptedly sit a great
percentage of the time you are still at increased risk of dying prematurely
Research by NASA scientist responsible for monitoring astronauts, shows
your body declines rapidly when sitting for long periods
Simply standing 30 times a day is a powerful antidote to
long periods of sitting and more effective than walking
There are many opportunities for movement through the day, from housework
or gardening, to cooking and even just standing every 10 minutes
It is not how many hours sitting that is bad for you, it is how often you interrupt
that sitting that is good for you

Jaguar
The jaguar is a large cat, a feline in the Panthera genus and is the only Panthera species found in the Americas. It is the third largest feline after the tiger and lion and largest in the Western Hemisphere. The jaguar's present range extends from Southern United States and Mexico across much of Central America and south to Paraguay and northern Argentina. Apart from a known and possibly breeding population in Arizona, southeast of Tucson, it has largely been eradicated from the United States since the early 20th century.
This spotted cat most closely resembles the leopard physically though it is usually larger and of sturdier build and its behavioral and habitat characteristics are closer to those of the tiger. While dense rainforest is its preferred habitat it will range across a variety of forested and open terrain. It is strongly associated with presence of water and is notable, along with the tiger, as a feline that enjoys swimming. The jaguar is largely a solitary, opportunistic, stalk and ambush predator at the top of the food chain - an apex predator. It is a keystone species, playing an important role in stabilizing ecosystems and regulating the populations of the animals it hunts. It has an exceptionally powerful bite, even relative to the other big cats. This allows it to pierce the shells of armoured reptiles and to employ an unusual killing method: It bites directly through the skull of prey between the ears to deliver a fatal bite to the brain.

Black-on-White Violence: The Forgotten Victims
As the nation remembers Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, it should also note that while the self-appointed guardians of King’s legacy, the “anti-racists,” obsess over Paula Deen and liken Trayvon Martin to Emmet Till, they say nothing about interracial violence when it involves black perpetrators and white victims.
Below is a select list of interracial atrocities committed by blacks against whites. These forgotten victims are men and women, young and old.
May they be judged by the content of their character and may God help them.

Building a 30-Story Hotel in 15 days

What can you accomplish in 360 hours? The Chinese Sustainable building company, Broad Group, has yet attempted another impossible feat, building a 30-story tall hotel prototype in 360 hours, after building a 15-story building in a week earlier in 2011.

BLACK PANTHERS: BLACKS VICTIMS OF WHITE CAPITALISM EVERYWHERE
The late Khalid Muhammad, former spokesman of the Nation of Islam and head of the New Black Panther Party gives a speech calling for the extermination of white people in South Africa. This concept is a tenet of the theology of the Nation of Islam, which holds that the white man is Satan and will be destroyed in a race war in the End Times. Destruction of the white race will produce a millennial utopia in their belief.
Since Khalid gave this speech thousands of white farmers have been slaughtered in South Africa. This may not be due directly to Khalid, but a reflection of the beliefs of the Black Nationalist movement, which has world-wide influence, especially in Africa.
The group is the New Black Panther Party — with whom Barack Obama had marched and before whom he spoke, during a campaign stop in Selma, Alabama in March 2007 (see photo below).
Benny Johnson reports for The Blaze that on their radio program, the New Black Panthers are calling for the killing of white babies (Aug. 14, 2013) and of white people in general.
DHS Employee Promotes Race War and Mass Murder of Whites
By day, Ayo Kimathi works for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a small business specialist in a unit that buys such items as handcuffs, ammunition and guns.
Off-duty, he calls himself “the Irritated Genie.” He’s a gay-bashing, revenge-seeking black nationalist who advocates on his website – War on the Horizon – the mass murder of whites and the “ethnic cleansing” of “black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors.”
“Warfare is eminent,” the website declares, “and in order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites – more than our Christian hearts can possibly count.”
The Southern Poverty Law Center identified Kimathi as the “Irritated Genie,” whose website “War on the Horizon” is dedicated to “properly educating Black people to prepare for Racial Warfare.” On it, he also advocates for the “purge” of “Uncle Tom” “race traitors”; describes President Barack Obama as a “treasonous mulatto scum dweller”; and claims whites are behind the ”effeminization of the black male” that is “threatening the existence of every Black man, woman, and child on Earth.”

Athletes who refused to visit the White House
Jon Terbush

The Week
Barack ObamaWhite HouseBill ClintonAlbert Pujols
President
Obama honored the 1972 Miami Dolphins this week, the only NFL team to
complete an undefeated season (sorry, Patriots fans). However, three
members of that team — Hall of Fame center Jim Langer, guard Bob
Kuechenberg, and defensive tackle Manny Fernandez — declined the invite,
citing political differences.
Kuechenberg: "I just don't believe in this administration at all."
Fernandez: "[M]y views are diametrically opposed to the president's."
Langer: "I don't want to be in a room with those people and pretend I'm having a good time. I can't do that."
Yet those three are hardly the first athletes to snub a
sitting president's White House invite. And not everyone who has in the
past spurned the commander-in-chief has done so for overtly political
reasons.
Here, 15 other athletes who were White House no-shows:
Matt BirkThe
former Baltimore Ravens center won the Super Bowl earlier this year, but
refused to meet President Obama because of the president's support for
Planned Parenthood.
"I am Catholic, I am active in the pro-life movement, and I just felt like I couldn't deal with that," Birk said. "I couldn't endorse that in any way."
Tim ThomasIn 2012, Thomas, a noted Tea Partier,
posted a screed against the entire government on his Facebook page to
explain his refusal to visit Washington with the rest of the 2011
Stanley Cup-winning Bruins.
"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People," he wrote.
"This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country."
James HarrisonHarrison
twice declined White House invites after winning the Super Bowl,
spurning both Obama and former President George W. Bush — not because of
their politics, but because he felt the whole idea of inviting
championship teams was hollow.
"This is how I feel — if you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don't win the Super Bowl," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, he [Obama] would've invited Arizona if they had won."

6. Tidy up a toilet. Pour a cup or more of diluted white distilled vinegar into the bowl. Let sit several hours or overnight. Scrub well with a toilet brush and flush.
7. Lose the carpet stain. Make a paste of 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar and ¼ cup salt or baking soda. Rub into the stain and let dry. Vacuum the residue the next day. (Always test an out-of-sight part of the carpet first.)
8. Renew paint brushes. To remove old paint, place brushes in a pot with vinegar. Soak for an hour, then turn on the stove and bring the vinegar to a simmer. Drain and rinse clean.
9. Wipe off a dirty faucet. To get rid of lime buildup, make a paste of 1 teaspoon vinegar and 2 tablespoons salt. Apply to sink fixtures and rub with a cloth.
10. Stop static cling. Add ½ cup of white distilled vinegar to your wash cycle. The acid reduces static and keeps dryer lint from sticking to your clothes.
11. Make old socks look new. Get the stains out of old socks and sweaty gym clothes by soaking them in a vinegar solution. Add 1 cup of white distilled vinegar to a large pot of water, bring to a boil and drop in the stained clothes. Let them soak overnight, and in the morning stained clothes are fresh and bright.
12. Restore handbags and shoes. Wipe white distilled vinegar on scuffed leather bags and shoes. It will restore their shine and help hide the marks.
13. Banish weeds. Pour white distilled vinegar on the weeds growing in the cracks of your walkway and driveway. Saturate the plant so the vinegar reaches the roots.
14. Liven droopy flowers. Don’t throw out cut flowers once they start to wilt. Instead, add two tablespoons of white vinegar and one teaspoon of sugar to a quart of water. Pour the solution into your vase, and the flowers will perk up.
15. Put an end to itching. Dab a cotton ball soaked in white vinegar on mosquito bites and insect stings. It will stop them from itching and help disinfect the area so they heal faster.
16. Whiten your teeth. Brush your teeth once a week with white distilled vinegar. Dip your toothbrush into the vinegar and brush thoroughly. It will help prevent bad breath, too.
17. Make nail polish last longer. Before you apply your favorite polish, wipe your nails with a cotton ball soaked in white distilled vinegar. The clean surface will help your manicure last.
18. Keep car windows frost-free. Prevent windows from frosting over in a storm by coating them with a solution of three parts white distilled vinegar to one part water. The acidity hinders ice, so you won’t have to wake up early to scrape off your car.
19. Let your dog shine. Spray your dog with one cup white distilled vinegar mixed with one quart water. The solution is a cheap alternative to expensive pet-care products, plus the vinegar will help repel pests like fleas and ticks.
20. Battle litter-box odor. Cat litter can leave behind an unwelcome smell. Eliminate it by pouring a half-inch of white distilled vinegar into the empty litter box. Let stand for 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
21. Kill bacteria in meat. Marinating in vinegar knocks out bacteria and tenderizes the meat. Create a marinade by adding ¼ cup balsamic vinegar for every 2 pounds of meat to your own blend of herbs and spices. Let the meat sit anywhere from 20 minutes to 24 hours, depending on how strong you want the flavor, then cook it in the morning without rinsing.
22. Prevent cracked eggs. Prevent eggs from cracking as they hard-boil by adding two tablespoons of white vinegar to the water. The eggs will stay intact, and the shells will peel off more easily when you’re ready to eat them.
23. Steam away a microwave mess. Fill a small bowl with equal parts hot water and vinegar, and place it in the microwave on high for 5 minutes. As the steam fills the microwave, it loosens the mess, making clean up a breeze.
24. Repair DVDs. If you have a worn DVD that skips or freezes, wipe it down with white distilled vinegar applied to a soft cloth. Make sure the DVD is completely dry before reinserting it into the player.
25. Get those last drops. If you can’t get that final bit of mayonnaise or salad dressing out of the jar, dribble in a few drops of vinegar. Put the cap on tightly and shake. The remaining condiments will slide out.
26. Rinse fruits and vegetables. Add 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar to one pint water. Use the mixture to wash fresh fruits and vegetables, then rinse thoroughly. The solution kills more pesticide residue than does pure water.
27. Brighter Easter eggs. Before your kids dye Easter eggs, mix 1 teaspoon of vinegar with ½ cup of hot water, then add food coloring. The vinegar keeps the dye bright and prevents the color from streaking.
28. Loosen a rusted screw. Pour vinegar onto the screw, and it will easily unstick.
29. Remove gum. To remove gum from fabric or hair, heat a small bowl of vinegar in the microwave. Pour the warm vinegar over the gum, saturating the area. The gum will dissolve.
30. Keep cheese from molding. Wrap cheese in a vinegar-soaked cloth, then place in an airtight container and refrigerate.
31. Renew a loofah. Soak your loofah in equal parts vinegar and water for 24 hours to dissolve soap residue, then rinse in cold water.
32. Remove wax. If you get melted candle wax on your wood furniture or floors, gently wipe it away with a cloth soaked in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water.
33. Take a relaxing bath. Add ½ cup of vinegar to warm bath water for a cheap spa session at home. The vinegar removes dead skin, leaving you feeling soft and smooth.
34. Brighten your hair. Remove hair product buildup by rinsing a tablespoon of vinegar through your hair once a month.
35. Freshen fabrics. Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and spritz your home to neutralize odors in fabrics, carpets, shoes or any sprayable surface.
36. Erase crayon. If your kids get crayon marks on the walls or floor, dip a toothbrush in white vinegar and gently scrub. The vinegar breaks down the wax, making for an inexpensive, nontoxic way to clean up after children.
37. Sticky stickers. Don’t scratch at the residue left by stickers or price tags. Instead, apply vinegar to the gunk, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe the glue away.
38. Clean the dishwasher and coffee pot. Reduce soap buildup and food residue by pouring a cup of vinegar into your empty dishwasher or coffee pot once a month and letting it run a full cycle.
39. Sanitize pet accidents. You can remove the stain―and smell―of your pet’s accident by mixing ¼ cup vinegar with a quart of water and blotting the mixture onto the mess with a washcloth. Continue dabbing until the spot is gone.
40. Prep for summer grilling. To remove charcoal buildup from your grill, spray white distilled vinegar on balled up aluminum foil and scrub the grate thoroughly.
41. Restore showerhead pressure. If your showerhead gets clogged with mineral deposits, soak it for 15 minutes in a mixture of ½ cup vinegar and 1 quart water.
42. Clean your scissors. When your scissor blades get sticky, wipe them down with a cloth dipped in full-strength white vinegar. Unlike soap and water, vinegar won’t ruin the blades or rust the metal.
43. Unclog drains. For a natural, nontoxic way to clean clogged pipes, pour one cup of baking soda, followed by one cup of white vinegar, down the drain. Let the products bubble and foam, then flush the pipes with a pot of boiling water.
44. Eliminate dandruff. If your scalp is feeling dry or flaky, vinegar can be a simple at-home remedy. Once a week, pour one cup of apple cider vinegar over your scalp, and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
45. Soften your feet. Summer sandals leaving you with cracked heals and calluses? Soak your feet for 20 minutes a day in one part vinegar to two parts warm water. The vinegar removes dead skin, leaving your feet soft and smooth.
1. Freshen up the fridge. Clean the shelves and walls with a solution of half water and half vinegar.
2. Brighten coffee cups and teacups. Gently scrub stains with equal parts vinegar and salt (or baking soda).
3. Eliminate odors. Swab plastic containers with a cloth dampened with vinegar.
4. Kill bathroom germs. Spray full-strength vinegar around the sink and tub. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
5. Save a garment. To remove light scorch marks on fabrics, rub gently with vinegar. Wipe with a clean cloth. This technique also works on antiperspirant stains.

THEY PROBABLY ATE THE LION
Chinese zoo tries passing off dog as an 'African lion'
As Agence France-Presse reports, the hoax was exposed when the dog, a Tibetan mastiff, started barking.According to the state-run publication Beijing Youth Daily, a mother and son heard the unexpected sound coming from the alleged lion during a recent visit to the zoo.
The paper says the zoo has been replacing exotic species with substitutes, including placing two rodents in a snake’s cage, a white fox in a leopard’s den and a common dog in a wolf’s pen.
“The zoo is absolutely cheating us,” the visitor, Sharon Liu, told the paper. “They are trying to disguise the dogs as lions.”
Liu and other zoo visitors reportedly paid 15 yuan ($2.45) for the chance to see the dog and other substitute animals up close.
ANOTHER MSNBC WACK JOB RANTS ABOUT HATE GROUPS
Infowars:
MSNBC engaged in one of the most egregious and defamatory hit pieces in its entire history earlier today when host Alex Wagner and guests all but blamed Alex Jones for the Boston bombings, claiming with no evidence that the Tsarnaev brothers were inspired to carry out the attack by the “deeply racist” Jones and his website.
Published on Aug 14, 2013
If someone designed a computer
program that randomly generated nuggets of liberal conventional wisdom,
MSNBC's Alex Wagner could sue them for violating her intellectual
property. In a segment on that cable news network's hour of bias
confirmation, the Southern Poverty Law Center's Mark Potok, spokesman
for a group Floyd Lee Corkins admitted had motivated him to kill as many
people at the Family Research Council as he could, alleged that
Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were motivated to their act of terrorism
by conservative thinkers. They laughably centered this claim on the fact
that the elder Boston Marathon bomber was partially influenced by Alex
Jones -- a conspiracy theorist slash entertainer without a political
home. But this panel segment also displayed flagrant, and intentional,
intellectual dishonesty by ignoring the bombers' other sources of
political influence.Perhaps the summer lull is to blame for Now's
decision to broadcast a segment about racial animus motivating the
American right in for umpteenth time. Perhaps it is a psychological
compulsion. No matter. To summarize the predictable segment below, Potok
alleged that the Tsarnaevs were motivated to their bloody act of
terrorism by Jones' unhinged rants. This led the panel to decry the rise
of racism in America which has followed the political ascension of
President Barack Obama.
