TRUMP ON LGBTQ

The Log Cabin Republicans, the nation’s largest collective of LGBTQ conservatives, has officially endorsed the re-election of President Donald Trump — after its board of directors voted against endorsing him in 2016 — stating that Trump has advanced LGBTQ rights and helped the GOP move past “culture wars” during his tenure.
In a Washington Post Op-Ed published on Thursday evening, Robert Kabel, chairman of the group, and Jill Homan, its vice president, wrote that “for LGBTQ Republicans, watching the 2016 GOP convention before Donald Trump was like a dream fulfilled” and marked the beginning of Trump removing gay rights “as a wedge issue from the old Republican handbook” and “taking bold actions that benefit the LGBTQ community.”

Former “American Idol” star and one-time North Carolina congressional candidate Clay Aiken is praising the Trump administration’s new effort to end the criminalization of homosexuality in dozens of countries around the world.
Aiken told Hill.TV’s “Rising” that President Trump’s recently announced global push signals a step in the right direction, saying those on the left and in the LGBTQ community should be “thankful” and “happy” about the new campaign.
“This movement to try to decriminalize homosexuality around the world is overdue,” Aiken told Hill.TV’s Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton.
“Previous administrations have done some work for it, but for the administration to make an active point of trying to at least bring attention to it … is something that people in the LGBTQ community, people on the left side of the aisle should be thankful for and be happy about,” he continued.




The Trump administration just proposed a new rule regarding gay anti-discrimination policy. Naturally, President Trump's critics had a meltdown.
BuzzFeed’s headline was apocalyptic: “Trump’s Latest Proposal Would Let Businesses Discriminate Based On LGBTQ Status, Race, Religion, And More.” They weren’t the only ones up in arms. The National Center for Transgender Equality said, “Trump and his cronies want to destroy our well-being.” California Democratic Rep. Barbara Lee called it “taxpayer-funded discrimination that targets women, people of color, and the LGBT community.”
These people need to take a deep breath. Once again, the Trump administration faces hysterical cries of homophobia that are completely unsubstantiated.
