ALABAMA STATE BREAD



















The choice, recall, was between a pone of cornbread or a pan of biscuits as the official bread of the state of Alabama. It was a simple choice, but one that prompted much spirited discussion.
Both forms of bread are dinnertime staples and both have plenty of fans to go around.
Many of you, it seems, share my devotion to both forms of baking. One of my favorite comments came from an online reader mused choosing a favorite between the two would be like “picking a favorite child; I like them both!”
