Last year, a federal program paid out $1.6 billion to cover free cell phones and the monthly bills of 12.5 million wireless accounts. The program, overseen by the FCC and intended to help low-income Americans, is popular for obvious reasons, with participation rising steeply since 2008, when the government paid $772 million for phones and monthly bills. Dependence on Government at All-Time High
Family and friends, this is a political strategy. Which party do you think will get elected if 49.5% pay no federal income taxand receive so many government benefits?
Government dependency jumped 8.1 percent in the past year. The average individual who relies on Washington could receive benefits valued at $32,748, more than the nation’s average disposable personal income ($32,446).
At the same time, nearly half of the U.S. population (49.5% - up from 47.5%) does not pay any federal income taxes.
This should infuriate the hard working, sacrificing, penny pinching, tax-paying individuals regardless of your party affiliation.
