The Japan-based SECOM Security has unveiled a new
surveillance camera which is mounted on a remote-controlled helicopter;
but, the device acts autonomously. These drone cameras fly out
whenever a crime is being perpetrated.
In Japan, technology is prevalent in modern-day
society. With the advancements of technology, things become more
convenient. In the case of private security, technology gives those
firms a marketing edge. One prime example is a new autonomous flying camera
unveiled by SECOM Security. The firm's aim is to make these drones
available when 2014 comes around. It's a programmable surveillance
camera that can fly around. However, you cannot buy these devices from
the firm; but, you can rent these devices from the firm. SECOM Security
wants to offer the services of one of those remote-controlled
surveillance helicopter for about $58 a month.
This type of camera acts an independent security camera. In a sense,
this is something you'd see out of something like Konami's “Metal Gear”
series. According to the RocketNews24 article, this special camera has a
lot of sensors that will work with SECOM Security. To take advantage
of these cameras, you need to contract with SECOM Security first. It
will take pictures and send information back to SECOM Security in real
time. If someone is trying to break into your place, the camera will
immediately take the perpetrator's face. If the person has a vehicle
nearby, the camera will take a picture of the license plate. Should
someone try to knock the device away, it's programmed to quickly evade
incoming dangers. Currently, the device is going through the testing
phase.
