'O zapft is!': Beer drinkers' Mecca begins as Oktoberfest kicks off in Munich with the traditional cry which translates as 'it is tapped'

Prost! The beer is now flowing at Munich's famous Oktoberfest.
Mayor Christian Ude inserted the tap into the first keg this morning with two deft blows of his hammer and the cry of 'O'zapft is' - 'It's tapped.'
As tradition demands, he handed the first glass to Bavarian governor Horst Seehofer, who beat him in a state election last weekend.
