A Cullman County couple was arrested Wednesday on several counts of sexual abuse of two young children.
Amber Maritta Cartwright, a 24-year-old resident of Crane Hill, and her boyfriend Zachary Levi Burns, a 23-year-old resident of Cullman, were arrested on sodomy and sexual abuse charges, and incest charges are still pending for both.
The Cullman County Sheriff's Office said the couple allegedly forced the two victims, both under the age of 12, to participate in sexual acts with Cartwright and Burns.
"It's safe to say this is one of the worst child sexual abuse cases I have seen in my career," Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry said in a release. "These children are very brave for coming forward to help us put these predators behind bars. There is no punishment severe enough for these two that fits this crime."
Matthew 18:6
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, andthat he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Mark 9:42
"If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.
Luke 17:2
It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble
