THANKS TO WHITE PEOPLE!

toilet-paper

During his tenure as President of the United States, George Washington used no toilet paper.

The reason?

It had not yet been invented.

The point?

One of the most overlooked aspects of world history are the innovations of Western culture.

While the predatory left presses towards “class struggle” by demonizing white people as the racist bourgeois that oppresses people of color, the proletariat, it purposefully overlooks the fundamental fact that Western culture has provided the infrastructure for human civilization.

Within that structure are a myriad of innovations that would not exist were it not for the “white devils”.

Here’s the tip of the proverbial iceberg: Innovations that would not exist were it not for white people.

• When you wear synthetic fibers, thank white people.

Sir Joseph Swan invented the first synthetic fiber in the late 1880’s. His invention paved the way for Walter Carothers to invent nylon and DuPont engineer Stephanie Louise Kwolek to create the incredibly durable Kevlar.

• Next time you turn on your windshield wipers, thank a white woman.

Mary Anderson

• Know diabetics? Thank these white Canadians for saving their lives.

Sir Frederick Grant Banting and John James Rickard Macleod

• Use Scotch tape? Thank this white guy.

Richard Gurley Drew

• When you use an aerosol can, consider thanking this white inventor.

On November 23, 1927, Erik Rotheim of Norway patented the aerosol can. Imagine life without it.

• Don’t forget to WD-40!

Speaking of spray cans, make a note to thank Norman Bernard Larsen who, after 39 tries, finally formulated WD-40. The year was 1953.

• Next time you watch television, thank this white dude.

John Logie Baird, a Scotsman, is credited with inventing the television. That was 1924. Also credited is white guy Philo Taylor Farnsworth who developed the first fully-functional television system. So the next time you watch Al Sharpton on MSNBC, thank a white guy.

• Wear Air Jordans? Thank these white guys.

Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight

• Next time you board an airplane, thank the white brothers.

Orville and Wilbur Wright.

• Ever ride in a car? Thank a white guy.

German tinkerer Karl Benz

• Toilet paper? Thank this white guy.

Too late for George Washington, but the rest of us can thank Joseph Gayetty for patenting commercial toilet paper. Gayetty first marketed his product on December 8, 1857.

The list is endless.

Consider the countless millions of lives saved during the recent Ebola crisis. Had it not been for Western technology those millions of lives would have been lost and nearly all would have been black Africans.

Europeans are often lampooned for introducing deadly viral infections during the Age of Discovery. Few, however, stop to thank white people for eradicating such diseases as Small Pox.

Here’s my challenge.

Look around you, wherever you happen to be. Note the inventions and innovations that surround you. Then consider that virtually all of them were invented by white people. CLASHDAILY ARTICLE
